One down two to go :)

I finally ran 30 minutes in a row :)    I didn't break any running records with it being so humid but I was definitely the sweatiest I have ever been. I ran around midnight and it was still 33C with humidity!  (for my American friends that equals to around 93F)

I weighed in yesterday with a loss of 0.8 pounds :)   After the week I had I will take it!     For the month of June I  have lost 3.8 pounds for a total of 21.7  pounds since I started back in April.

I am so happy I  decided to give myself another chance at losing this weight.   If I hadn't summer clothes would have been a nightmare!  In March all my clothes were getting super tight and now they are fitting much better.  Even my underwear and bras are getting too loose.   When I started this weight loss journey (over three years ago)   I bought a pair of size 16 jeans they were super tight but at the time I thought I would lose enough weight to fit into them.  Well that never happened I plateau for two years then gained weight this winter.   This week I decided to try them on  I still have some muffin top but they fit better then they ever did before!    I was also looking through my phone and I came across a picture of myself from March before I started WW and I took a picture of myself in the size 16 jeans.  Here's a side by side picture.  What do you think?  Do you see a difference?   Eating less and running has really changed the shape of my body.

Their are still rolls but less of them lol

Last week's workouts

One of those weeks..

Just when I think I have my eating down to a science.  This week happens,  with  a lot of stress and long hours at work.  Being tired and stress are the two reasons I over eat/ binge .   I set up some rules for myself when I started WW.   No take out,  no snacks at the corner store,  no fast food except for subway and no eating at work unless it was a salad or rice and chicken( for those of you who don't know I work at a restaurant).  I broke two of these rules after three months.  I had takeout and I went to McDonald :(.  I can feel my old habits creeping back.    A wise friend told me ( hi Cassandra ;). It's need vs want.   Do I want that caramel sundae?  Yes!  But do I need it?  No.   It has no nutrition value it's empty calories and that's how I got to 274!   It's a learning process but I am willing to continue on this journey.

Running has been a bit of struggle.  I still have three training sessions left from couch to 5km.  I should be finished by now but the last three runs are running 30 mins straight!   Although I have ran 28 minutes these last two minutes are killing me!   This week I ran 17 minutes and got tired and walked the rest of the way :(.  I know I have come far with my weight loss and improving my pace but I refuse to say I completed this program until I run three times running 30 minutes straight!   In other news I ran my fastest mile and km this week :).

When I first started it took me over 15 minutes to run a mile and ten minutes to run a kilometre.   I can't believe it's been three months since I started running consistently and in that time I have almost ran 100kms.

Weigh in is tomorrow I am praying for a one pound loss!   Wish me luck :).

Quick post

I lost 3.4 pounds this week!  I drank lots of water and ate a ton of fruit and veggies.   I am starting to notice some changes in my body.  My waist and face have gotten smaller.   The clothes that were getting super tight are now fitting and even becoming too big.    My cardio has also improved  as well.  I can't believe I have been running for three months. I  am trying to celebrate the now and not focus too much on the finish line.   I am starting to believe it's about the journey of losing weight and celebrating the milestones.  I still have a long way to go but making small goals along the way really has helped.

You got the right stuff...

This week was filled with lots of activities and events.   On Wednesday I went with  my two girlfriends to see NKOTB,  98 Degrees and Boys II Men.   I was looking forward to it all week,  I just adore live music! I felt like I was a 12 year old girl again and I believe that was the last time I saw NKOTB.  Before the concert we went to Jack Astor's to grab some dinner.  Rob dropped me off and I left my phone in the car :(.     I thought I made a decent choice on dinner veggie burger and sweet potato fries ( I know I should have had the salad)   I really wish I didn't forget my phone because when I got home to add up my points for the day.  The burger was 21 points!! or for people who are not in WW land over 700 calories!   Oh well lesson learned.  I also had a few rum and diet cokes which didn't help with my caloric intake.   In the future I would have made better food choices but what matters the most is that  I had a great time singing at the top of my lungs and dancing the night away.

Here's a few pictures I took.

On Saturday I went to  a volleyball tournament.  The weather was decent it didn't rain but it wasn't sunny either.    I absolutely love this event for many reason including it's for a good cause, I get to see a bunch of friends and you get to play, four 30 minutes games throughout the day.   There is also a lot of alcohol consumed lol!     And this bring me to my weekly weigh in, I gained 2.7 pounds :( I am not happy about it especially since  I worked out a lot but I also ate and drank too much.  Alcohol doesn't help with making the best food choices.   On a positive note  I have been back on track with my eating and drinking tons of water to flush out the crap!  Next week will be better.

Have you been to any good concerts recently?  What are you most excited for this summer?

Happy moment / WI

When my friend and I first started Weight Watchers (10 weeks ago) we both committed to sticking with the program for three months.  I suggested we set a concrete weight loss goal.  We both agreed 20 pounds was realistic to lose.  Today my friends I hit that goal early.   I lost 2.3 pounds this week for a total of 20.2 pounds lost.   It's been a lot of hard work and I formed new habits along the way.

The top 5 things that I have changed in the last 10 weeks:

1.  I drink a lot more water, the first thing I do when I wake up is have a big glass of water.  I never did that before.

2.  I am tracking every little piece of food I eat

3.  I run!  I started training the same time I started WW and I believe this has helped me lose the weight.

4.  I try to eat fruit or vegetables with every meal

5.  I lean on my support system if I am having a bad day or read blogs who inspire me.

Of course it is still a learning process and I look forward to seeing what new healthy habits I can form.

Weekly Workouts

Monday- Tennis (90mins)  & Volleyball (30mins)
Tuesday- Running (48mins)
Sunday- Running (55mins)

Running was tough this week.   My heart wasn't into it.  I was feeling down about my pace and how I should be faster.    I did however have an "aha moment"  I realized I am still 60 pounds over weight and my pace will improve once the weight melts off.   The important thing to remember   is it helps me lose weight,  it challenges me and I have been feeling a lot calmer since I have started, and really that's the most important reason to run.

Today was a good day!

Next goal is to lose 10 pounds.

PS I started a new challenge for June check it out.
