Reading Blog after blog

It is 3am and I really should be sleeping!    I am usually a night owl but I have to be awake for 7am to go to a Volleyball Tournament.  Don't get me wrong I am super excited about  it but I'm not looking forward to the 2 to 3 hours sleep.   ( I will bring my camera and take pictures to show you)

I have been reading a lot of weight loss blogs in the past week to try to get a grip on my weight.  These are the three things that I have discovered our similar.

1.  Blogger's either write down what they eat everyday or take pictures of it
2.  They all exercise 4 to 6 times a day
3. They all seem to stay very hydrated

I have been making a conscious effort to drink more water and you all know that I work out but of course there is always room for improvement.  Starting this Monday I am going to starting writing down everything I eat.  You should join me in this new adventure :)

On a side note:

My interview went well, I don't know why I got so nervous.   I was a bit embarrassed during the interview I was listening to to the information about the company etc. when I started to sweat,  Literally I could feel droplets forming on my forehead because of this  I got even  more nervous so of course I just continued to sweat.  I could totally tell Daniel (the men interviewing me) noticed but I was thankful he didn't say anything.

A little bit soggy, relieved and proud I finished the interview and hopped into my car turned the engine on and away I  went!   You would think, but when I turned my key nothing happened!    I had just left the interview telling him I had a reliable car ( I will need a car if I get the job)   Thankfully I have a mother and step dad that are retired so I was able to reach them and they were on there way.   Problem solved.   You would think but no with my scatter brain, while I was waiting, it was way too hot to wait in the car, so I leaped out of the car to wait and locked the door  because that's what you should do, right?   but there was one tiny problem the keys were still in the car...  Really???   So not only did I have to call my mom/step dad, I also had to call Rob to come with the extra set of keys.   No wonder I was nominated for "most likely to lock your keys in the car" in high school.

On that note, time for bed!

Forgot I had the tools

My cousin had to cancel our gym date she wasn't feeling well which I will allow this time j/k.   So instead I was going to go for a long walk along the water that is near my apartment but of course I delayed that too long and it started to rain with lightning.   I started thinking about all the different exercise classes I have taken over the years: spin, yoga, boxing, tai chi, pilates, tae kwon do, circuit training etc.  From these classes I have learned to do exercises that don't require any equipment or weights.  All I need is me!

My workout tonight consisted of

  • push ups
  • triceps push ups
  • sumo squats
  • squats
  • lunges
  • crunches

15 reps each exercise, and I rotated until the 25 minutes was up!  It was a quick workout that made me sweat and kept my heart rate up!

I now know when I don't have access to the car and it's crappy outside I can do this workout in my own living room!

No Excuses!

Sleep.... is not my friend

Ever since I got back from the Dom Rep my sleeping has been more frequent and less quality sleep.  I find  I am tired all the time and sleeping way more then I need to.  I started a new medication for my anxiety, I am hoping it will help with my sleep.  The weather is also the culprit, when it is cloudy and rainy I just feel like sleeping all day.

I just watch the documentary Food Inc. it has made me reconsider the foods I am eating.  I will do some more research and keep you posted!

As for Exercise:  Monday I played Volleyball for 45 minutes and Tuesday I did cardio for 40 minutes and 20 minutes of weights.   Pet Peeve: I was working out late at night and I  get stuck with a bunch of men  who don't feel the need to put there free weights back!  Very annoying!

Today I am taking an aerobics class with my cousin should be interesting.  It's called Sha'Bam!

I have an interview on Friday wish me luck!

I hope everyone as a great day!

Remebering something Oprah once said.....

Today I went over to my girlfriend's house to see her new townhouse.  While I was getting ready to go,  I was feeling a little bloated and blah.  I wanted to fell comfortable so I decided to wear my "fat jeans"  I slipped them on and realized there weren't as loose as they were in the past.  My first thought was "Rob must of just washed them??"  but  deep down  I knew that wasn't the issue.   Although they are not the jeans I wore when I first started my weight loss journey they are still the jeans that were too big a couple of months ago.

Like Oprah once said "its the 5 or 10 pound weight gain you should really notice and not ignore, because pretty soon it will add up to 20 or 30 pounds"   Of course this not verbatim but you get the drift.  Although I am disappointed about my jeans it was also a wake up call or a warning sign to do something about it.

I want to be at the finish line with my weight loss goals and to always challenge myself with new fitness goals.  But I have to put in the work.   I have to be accountable for what I eat everyday and how much exercise I do or else I will be that fat chick sitting on the couch going no where in life.  I just have to figure out how to continue and what will work from this point on.   I know I am an average person but I want this one thing in my life to be above average and for people to admire and be impressed with...  and hopefully one day soon.   I can help other people in the future!

What has worked for you to keep the weight off or to continue to lose weight??
