One of those weeks..

Just when I think I have my eating down to a science.  This week happens,  with  a lot of stress and long hours at work.  Being tired and stress are the two reasons I over eat/ binge .   I set up some rules for myself when I started WW.   No take out,  no snacks at the corner store,  no fast food except for subway and no eating at work unless it was a salad or rice and chicken( for those of you who don't know I work at a restaurant).  I broke two of these rules after three months.  I had takeout and I went to McDonald :(.  I can feel my old habits creeping back.    A wise friend told me ( hi Cassandra ;). It's need vs want.   Do I want that caramel sundae?  Yes!  But do I need it?  No.   It has no nutrition value it's empty calories and that's how I got to 274!   It's a learning process but I am willing to continue on this journey.

Running has been a bit of struggle.  I still have three training sessions left from couch to 5km.  I should be finished by now but the last three runs are running 30 mins straight!   Although I have ran 28 minutes these last two minutes are killing me!   This week I ran 17 minutes and got tired and walked the rest of the way :(.  I know I have come far with my weight loss and improving my pace but I refuse to say I completed this program until I run three times running 30 minutes straight!   In other news I ran my fastest mile and km this week :).

When I first started it took me over 15 minutes to run a mile and ten minutes to run a kilometre.   I can't believe it's been three months since I started running consistently and in that time I have almost ran 100kms.

Weigh in is tomorrow I am praying for a one pound loss!   Wish me luck :).

What is your favourite workout?

  1. The running is a great accomplishment! I couldn't run for 30 minutes straight. I've tried and always return to speed walking. Don't be too hard on yourself for two mishaps in three months - forgive and move forward.

  2. The running is great. You have come so far. I've tried running, but my body couldn't handle it (bad knees). I'm glad it is working for you.

Everyone slips up. The important thing is to move on from it and try not to do it again.

  4. You really have come so far! I remember the couch to 5k. The first 20 minute run almost killed me. I had to repeat that week for weeks and then just gave up. Now every time I pass the 20 minute mark I smile!

Your friend is right about asking yourself the hard question of need vs. want but it's okay to treat yourself every once in a while!
