Observations/Goals/New Commitments

Happy New Years Everyone!   I hope you all had a great NYE and a wonderful Christmas holiday with your friends and family.

I haven't posted in a while due to being busy and having a bit of writers block.   However I have been reading and commenting on all my favorite blogs and in the past few days it has really gotten me thinking about my life and plans for 2013.

I have been reading A Merry Life for  the last several months and I really enjoy her writing and her honesty.   She recently wrote a post about being embarrassed about showing her before and after pictures because she is still not where she wants to be.  I personally think she shouldn't be, because it shows how far she has come and I am glad she kept the pictures up.  You go girl!   Because of her I decided to post pictures monthly of myself sporting my lululemon sports bra and booty shorts.  I got my lovely boyfriend Rob to take the pictures.  It is hard to see the pictures but I want to be brave and I believe this will be a great way to show my progress along with my monthly weight in.  I will put the pictures in a tab but here is a preview, please be kind.  One day I would love to rock this outfit in a yoga class.

Another thing I would like to write about is The Scale! In order for me to do the  December Challenge I needed to borrow my sisters scale I usually weigh myself on the Wii.   It has been interesting to have a scale in my apartment.  I have been weighing daily sometimes twice once in the morning and once at night.  I was curious to how much my weight can fluctuate during a 24 hour period.  Boy oh Boy my weight sometimes can fluactuate 5 pounds from the morning to night.  Which I found to be shocking!   I am not sure if this is normal or not?  I know one to two pounds is but 5!  Does anyone else have this problem?  I find weighting daily keeps me more accountable.  I am not a slave to the scale and I am trying to make sure the numbers on the scale doesn't define who I am.

The past month I  have eliminated bread, chocolate, ice cream, donuts,  and pastries by default I haven't eaten any pasta until two days ago.  It is not one my trigger foods, it is something I just don't eat very often.   Anyways after I ate it I felt okay but the next morning I felt bloated and my face was all puffy!!   I had a reaction to the pasta and I will not be eating that again and it makes me happy to me more aware of my body.

  1. Be careful about the scale! I used to weigh every day until it became an obsession and determined how I felt about myself for the day. However, weighing is important for me in order to stay accountable. I now weigh once a week at the same time of day.

Best of luck to you in 2013! You can do it!
