I can cross that off my list!

On Saturday I went curling for the first time with my boyfriend Rob and my two friends.   It has been something I have been wanting to try for a while now and I even added it to my long term goals.    It was a great workout and a great activity to do with friends!   You really do need a lot of balance and a strong core to do this sport.  I fell a few times when I was throwing the rock because I didn't quite understand the proper form.    We played for over two hours.  I was hot and cold at the same time.  I would for sure try it again.     Out of eight teams we came in third place !! Besides Rob it was the first time anyone had ever played.  FYI: Curling is kind of like a giant shuffle board but on ice.

Third place winners!

I love this picture even if I am making a funny face!

Weekly Workouts

Monday-  Elliptical (30 mins)
Wednesday-  Elliptical (30mins)  + * Cassandra's Crazy Circuit (25 mins)
Saturday- Curling (125 mins)

I wanted to explain a bit more in detail about the Circuit I did with my friend Cassandra.   We had to do 45 reps of each exercise and go from one exercise to the next without a break.   Here is the exercises we did.

Sit-ups
Squats
Bicep curls
Shoulder presses
Walking Lunges
Push ups
A butt exercise on the exercise ball
Military press
Burpee's
Step ups or Box Jumps

It was super hard and challenging I did have to take a few breaks because I was getting light headed due to my rapid heart rate.  I was cursing Cassandra's name while doing some of the exercises but in the end I am happy I completed it!   I was sore for over three days but a good kind of sore ;)

I forget to tell you that I signed up for another 5 km in May.   It's the biggest race we have here in Ottawa.   I believe with all the races combined there are over 20,000 people running.   It is an amazing race to run!  The energy you get from the runner's and all the people who cheer is pretty spectacular.  The marathon is also the qualifier for the Boston Marathon.

Monthly Challenge

I meant to keep track of how much water I consumed last month but some how that didn't happen.  I did drink way more water then I would normally and I am proud of that.  I would give myself a B- for this challenge.

I can't believe it is already February, so that means it is time for a new challenge.  I am a few days late but I have decided to challenge myself to do 1000 push-up for the month.  Who's with me????

I haven't forgotten about my progress photo's. I will post them tomorrow.

  4. WOW you are doing so well on your workouts! I think curling is fascinating too - my Scottish husband tries to explain the rules but I still don't get it :)
